Lullabot is seeking a full-time Support Developer within the United States who will thrive as part of the innovative and supportive team. You will play a crucial role in Lullabot's support and maintenance team, responsible for the ongoing health, security, and performance of a diverse portfolio of client websites and applications, primarily built on Drupal. Your work will directly contribute to client satisfaction and the long-term success of their digital platforms. The Support Developer will report to Lullabot's VP of Extended Support. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills combined with the ability to be creative and compassionate. They'll be able to manage themselves in a 100% remote-work environment and will possess excellent communication habits in order to work well with other team members and clients. Responsibilities Include <ul> <li>Diagnose and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks on existing websites and applications.</li> <li>Perform regular security updates, patching, and monitoring to protect client sites from vulnerabilities.</li> <li>Implement feature enhancements and minor development tasks on existing website projects.</li> <li>Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including backups, performance checks, and code updates.</li> <li>Respond to client support requests in a timely and professional manner, providing clear communication and status updates.</li> <li>Collaborate with project managers and other developers to prioritize and execute support tasks.</li> <li>Test and deploy code changes, ensuring stability and functionality across various environments.</li> <li>Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and site-specific configurations.</li> <li>Monitor website uptime and performance, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.</li> <li>Manage website configuration and settings through the UI and configuration management systems.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hosting environments.</li> <li>Version control code using Git and participate in team-based Git workflows.</li> <li>Utilize Drush and Composer for Drupal site maintenance and development tasks.</li> <li>Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for all fixes and updates.</li> <li>Establish and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) toolchains to automate code building, validation, and testing.</li> <li>Design, write, and execute comprehensive automated tests to validate new features, prevent regressions, and ensure site stability.</li> </ul> We’re Looking For <ul> <li>Proficiency in Drupal 8/9/10/11 development and site building.</li> <li>Strong understanding of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (including jQuery).</li> <li>Experience with Drupal's theme layer and Twig templating engine.</li> <li>Familiarity with Drupal module development (custom modules and extending contributed modules).</li> <li>Working knowledge of Git version control and team-based workflows (e.g., Gitflow).</li> <li>Experience with command-line tools such as Drush and Composer.</li> <li>Understanding of web security best practices and common vulnerabilities.</li> <li>Knowledge of website performance optimization techniques.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced support environment.</li> <li>Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.</li> <li>Familiarity with LAMP/LEMP stack and web server configuration (Apache/Nginx).</li> <li>Basic understanding of database management (MySQL/MariaDB).</li> <li>Experience with browser developer tools for debugging front-end issues.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience troubleshooting and resolving issues on live Drupal websites.</li> <li>Proven experience with Drupal site building, theming, and module management.</li> <li>Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.</li> </ul> Bonus Points <ul> <li>Experience working in an agency setting or managing multiple client projects simultaneously.</li> <li>Experience contributing to open-source projects, particularly Drupal, is highly desirable.</li> <li>Understanding of hosting environments (e.g., Pantheon, Acquia) and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.</li> <li>Contribute to the development and maintenance of custom code and modules and themes.</li> <li>Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.</li> <li>Assist in the development and refinement of internal support processes and documentation.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for proactive improvements to client websites.</li> <li>Stay updated with the latest application developments, security advisories, and web technologies.</li> <li>Provide technical guidance and potentially mentor junior support team members.</li> <li>Optimize website performance through techniques like caching, image optimization, and code refactoring.</li> <li>Automate repetitive maintenance tasks using scripting or other tools.</li> <li>Engage with the Drupal community by contributing to modules, documentation, or forums.</li> <li>Assist with Drupal site migrations and upgrades to newer versions.</li> <li>Develop and maintain automated tests for website functionality.</li> <li>Explore and recommend new tools or technologies to improve support efficiency and effectiveness.</li> </ul> Requirements <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience.</li> <li>Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Drupal development, with a significant portion focused on support and maintenance.</li> <li>Must have a reliable internet connection and a willingness to work from home (or anywhere) in a distributed fashion.</li> <li>Must be able to use a computer for up to 8 hours per day.</li> <li>Must be able to travel 2-3 times per year in the United States for client on-sites and company events.</li> <li>We are looking for a full-time employee (40 hours per week),
