You’ll be our: Lead - Manufacturing Engineering ProcessYou’ll be based at: Hosur FactoryYou’ll be Aligned with: Head Manufacturing Engineering ProcessYou’ll be a member of: Manufacturing Engineering - AssemblyWhat you’ll do at Ather:Lead all manufacturing engineering activities for lithium-ion battery production, focusing on process optimization and line efficiency.Ensure all the battery lines (NMC & LFP) are up and running with full efficiency.Deep Dive into daily issues and solve them through a structured approach.Optimize processes: Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement resolutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. For example, analyze cycle times on critical machines like laser/spot welding machines and electrolyte filling machines to find bottlenecks and increase throughput.Manage change requests (CR): Evaluate the impact of changes on the battery assembly process and implement them effectively to maintain compliance and quality.Maintain comprehensive logs: Track all ongoing issues from identification to final closure. This includes documenting problems with equipment, materials, or operator procedures.Safety Procedures: Deep understanding of hazardous material handling, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and emergency response protocols.Electrical Diagnostics: Proficiency with tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes for measuring electrical properties within battery packs.Battery Management System (BMS) Knowledge: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to the BMS, which controls the battery's health and safety.Mechanical Assembly: Skill in the careful disassembly, reassembly, and proper torquing of battery components and enclosures.Software and Data Analysis: Competence in using diagnostic software to analyze battery data, perform firmware updates, and log maintenance activities.Component Replacement: Expertise in safely identifying and replacing faulty cells, modules, or other components within a battery pack.Thermal Management System Maintenance: Knowledge of how to service and maintain the cooling or heating systems that regulate battery temperature.Preventive Maintenance: Skill in performing routine checks and tests to identify and resolve potential issues before they lead to system failure.Develop and implement strategies to ensure a "First Time Right" approach for all new battery product introductions (NPIs).Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFTs) to resolve issues related to manufacturing processes, cycle time, and quality.Serve as the primary liaison between the Manufacturing Engineering team and other departments to coordinate the implementation of process improvements.Conduct virtual and physical builds to validate battery assembly processes before they go live, identifying and mitigating potential issues early on.Work with suppliers to review new projects and ensure alignment with manufacturing requirements.Convert Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM) into Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) to ensure a seamless transition from battery design to production.Actively participate in creating Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans to establish robust processes for battery manufacturing.Implement Poka-Yoke techniques to minimize operator errors and improve product quality on the battery lines.Identify and procure necessary equipment, tooling, and material handling facilities for manual and automated battery processes.Manage the Change Request (CR) process, evaluating the impact of changes on battery manufacturing and implementing them effectively.Ensure all battery manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with relevant safety standards and legal regulations.Continuously identify opportunities for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in battery production.Manage a team of 4-5 people and own the deliveryNeed to find & drive the improvement projects .Here’s what we are looking for:Domain skills:Ability to develop & foster strong stakeholder relationshipsAbility to identify potential risks & plan to mitigate themHands on experience in working with multiple CFT
