Part-Time Writing & Humanities Instructor (AP English / Research/College Essay)

Smart Education Corp. is an established educational organization providing high-quality academic enrichment in Northern Virginia and Maryland, where teachers feel supported and valued. We are now seeking experienced Writing Teachers to join our Vienna, VA team for part-time, in-person instruction. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

· Teach writing to students (grades 4–12) in small group and one-on-one settings.

· Provide targeted support for academic writing, creative writing, AP Language preparation, and college essay development.

· Track student progress and provide clear communication to families.

· Commit to regular weekly sessions, including weekend availability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Writing, Education, or related field.

· Experience teaching advanced writing, AP-level courses, or college prep

- Excellent writing and editing ability

- Emphasis on depth, discussion, and real writing improvement

- Professional, reliable, and organized

· Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

· Must pass a background check as required by Fairfax County and Virginia law.

· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Independent Contractor Requirements

· This is a 1099 contractor position; instructors are responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and insurance.

· Reliable transportation to and from our Vienna, VA location is required.
