WORK ENVIRONMENT

We are a non-climate-controlled distribution center. Our location offers: New equipment and machinery to complete your work in a clean, organized warehouse. Large Industrial Fans to help circulate the air; water stations in each department; and climate-controlled break room and activity room.

SHIFT HOURS AND PAY RATE

Normal Shift: Monday through Friday, 3:00am-12:00pm or until route is complete. Maximum 45 hours per week (additional hours may be available, if approved by supervisor).

Pay: $19.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

  • Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to delivery location. Load material on the truck with the last stop closest to the cab and the first stop material closest to the lift gate.
  • Pay close attention to departure times and return times, calling the Driver Supervisor with any questions or issues. Deliver material to customers using pre-determined route. Drive in a careful, skillful, and defensive manner so material and vehicle are protected against damage. Unload material for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material being unloaded is correct based on the Ship Ticket.
  • Ensure customer acknowledges receipt of material by obtaining a legible signature on the Ship Ticket and/or Delivery Manifest. Obtains appropriate information on checks, keeps funds secure for COD deliveries and turns in funds upon returning from deliveries. Notate any shipping discrepancies on Ship ticket and/or Delivery Manifest and notifies manager upon return of customer returns and explanations for returns. Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Notifies Driver Supervisor, Safety & Training Coordinator, and/or Warehouse Manager of any issues.
  • Any other task or project as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License in state of residence with a minimum of three (3) years driving history (i.e., 26 ft. Box Truck; 16’ to 26’ flatbed trucks, etc.)
  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) with no type A violations; or no more than one (1) type B violation in the past three (3) years.
  • Be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen; and, possess a valid DOT medical card/certificate or obtain one upon employment.
  • Ability to perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze and function independently, completing a variety of tasks accurately, and with close attention to detail in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent driving is required.
  • Visits to customers will expose the incumbent to all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be aware of each customer’s environment and adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, and kneel.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Move/Lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, may lift of up to 75 pounds.
