You will provide support to the US Water Delivery Center RBL and all Water BOU Regional Leaders. You will routinely engage with other BC leaders, including Business Center Sector/Discipline Leaders and Principal-level leadership across the North America Water BOU, regarding the business and operational aspects of the BC, including operations, project delivery, resourcing, hiring, staff internal equity, marketing and business development, engagement, and team development. You will work in collaboration with the North American Discipline Leaders, Regional Discipline Leaders and Water BC leadership teams to implement effective business strategies and support delivering projects and other Water BOU initiatives and objectives. The DC BCOL reports directly to the US Delivery Center RBL. The US West Delivery Center BCOL must be located in the US West Water BOU regions. In the USDC there is a US East BCOL and a US West BCOL, coordination, collaboration and maintaining consistency is a critical aspect of the role.<br><br>Your Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li>Lead by example, encourage innovation, and provide career opportunities for staff in the US Delivery Center.</li><li>Cultivate a strong business culture emphasizing communication, engagement, and development of an extended leadership team/model.</li><li>Develop and implement a plan to achieve key performance indicators for Health and Safety and lead the development of a Health and Safety culture within the Delivery Center.</li><li>Support a strong quality delivery culture in the Delivery Center.</li><li>Be responsible for the Delivery Center operations, financial performance, discipline budgets, utilization, and people management.</li><li>Implement and manage continuous improvement of processes, systems, and technology.</li><li>Employ efficient resource management, manage operations, and ensure effective delivery of professional services.</li><li>Drive financial performance and sustain and grow the net revenue, gross margin, and operating income of the Business Center in conjunction with other Business Center leaders.</li><li>Monitor compliance with Stantec’s policies, practices, and procedures by all staff within the Delivery Center.</li><li>Collaborate with teams across Stantec and the region to maximize opportunities within the overall Stantec client base.</li><li>Oversee employee compensation, career development, performance reviews, and succession planning in conjunction with other Business Center leaders.</li><li>Oversee the budgeting process for the Delivery Center and develop the annual budget.</li><li>Work with HR to advance and maintain staff internal equity.</li><li>Collaborate on and oversee the business planning process for the Delivery Center, outlining the vision, focus, priorities for implementation, and specific goals for performance and/or growth. Be responsible for engaging the BC in the development and implementation of these plans.</li><li>Participate in the Delivery Center’s staffing process, contributing to the strategic talent management plan, staff selection, and succession planning.</li><li>Work closely with Water and other BCOLs to resource projects from both long-term and short-term standpoints.</li><li>Work with Water BOU regional and BC leaders, as well as Water Technical Discipline Leaders, to coordinate DC hiring in support of each Water region’s hiring plan.</li><li>Engage in direct-time project related work, leading or supporting projects.<br><br></li></ul>Key KPIs<br><br><ul><li>Advance Delivery Center organic growth consistent with Water BOU goals.</li><li>Maintain voluntary staff turnover below Water BOU target.</li><li>Achieve and sustain Delivery Center utilization target.</li><li>Maintain a minimum Delivery Center LISI score of 2.0.</li><li>Improve Delivery Center staff engagement scores through targeted leadership, communication, and development actions.</li><li>Manage Delivery Center financial performance within the approved annual budget.</li><li>Support and facilitate GDC usage consistent with Water BOU targets.</li><li>Oversee DC Staff mandatory training to be 100% completed.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Proven ability to effectively lead, challenge, and inspire staff to work together cohesively as a team.</li><li>Strong understanding of the water consulting business and overall market.</li><li>Entrepreneurial orientation with an understanding of the business challenges of a consulting services provider.</li><li>Strong operational, technical, and financial management skills, with a minimum of 10 years of project or business-related management experience.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to champion both technical and customer service excellence with conviction and purpose.</li><li>Proven project management, administrative, and technical skills applicable to the delivery of Water projects.</li><li>Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple and varied deadlines.</li><li>Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong communication skills.</li><li>High degree of integrity.</li><li>Proven ability to articulate vision and create a high level of engagement with staff.</li><li>Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with internal groups, key business partners, and clients.</li><li>Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external groups.</li><li>Ability to perform well under pressure and drive action.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment and lead or work in harmony with a diverse group of highly motivated and capable individuals.</li><li>Strong sense of teamwork and community.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education And Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field</li><li>15+ years work experience in engineering</li><li>PE preferred</li><li>The position will primarily work in an office setting; however, periodic and sometimes frequent travel may be required. Travel requirements are estimated to be up to 10% of the time.<br><br></li></ul>The BCOL duties will require an average of 30% to 40% of your time.
